InstantTalk provides an easy way to have voice conversations with another iOS device when traditional cell network is unreliable, undesirable or unavailable altogether. Just open the app on two devices and wait a few seconds for them to get connected. No buttons to press, just turn on and talk!

It is a perfect app to use when riding a motorcycle with a passenger. No need to spend hundreds of dollars on dedicated intercom systems when you already have the devices that can talk to each other. InstantTalk was designed from the ground up to require minimum amount of screen based interaction, so your phone can stay in your pocket and your fingers in your gloves. It was tested during multiple day-long rides both around the countryside and in the city, to ensure you get the performance you need:

- Interaction-free connections: just open the app and it finds and connects to your buddy with no further taps.
- Automatic re-connects: if one of you decides to venture off for a while and you lose the connection, it will automatically re-start once you are back together. No redialing, tapping or choosing required.
- You can still receive regular phone calls! Your private chat will resume automatically once you hang up.
- Pure peer-to-peer connection does not rely on cell signal, internet access or any other third party infrastructure.
- Play your favourite music while a voice chat is in progress. Works with "play" buttons found on many headsets.

Notes:

While it can work over both wifi and Bluetooth, for truly autonomous peer-to-peer operation we suggest you use Bluetooth and turn wifi off. InstantTalk will attempt to automatically re-establish any lost connections, such as when devices temporarily move out of each others range and then come back. Note that if you experience frequent loss of connection you may be reaching the limits of your devices Bluetooth range or are subject to interference; in such cases, experiment with device placement to improve performance.

* Note: this app is designed as a basic Bluetooth communicator for use with a standard wired headset, such as the one supplied with an iPhone. Use with Bluetooth headsets, or in conjunction with other accessories has not been tested and is not guaranteed.

Bluetooth doesnt work
Works over wifi, wont connect (iPhone 5c & iPhone 6+) over Bluetooth. Shame, but useless for motorcycle intercom without this feature working.
no peer-to-peer on wifi
Works pretty good on bluetooth and wifi (except for too much echo) BUT on wifi you are required an Internet connection, not just the wifi on as I hoped.
Great App!!
I was looking for an app that would allow me to talk freely to my buddys without having to push a button while riding my quads and thats what I got. Helmet comunication systems cost a lot and this does the exact same thing for a lot less. Perfect app for what I wanted to do. Thanks!
not great
it worked sorta, but there was voice quality issues and it was unreliable for our business use.
Not Good Enough
I first bought the other app that is made by Black Magma Inc, who don’t seem to exist anymore, and it did not auto reconnect if the connection was interrupted by a call or walking out of range of the other device. So then I discovered that they made this almost identical app, but that this app has included in the description that it will auto reconnect with the other device if it is disconnected by a call or something. I immediately tested the truthfulness of this claim, and found that it is not possible to reconnect unless both devices are unlocked and have the app in the foreground. This is impractical for the purposed use of this app - that of using while driving a motorcycle. Both riders will have their phones locked and stowed in their packs or pockets! It is not stated in the description that you need to have both devices unlocked and the app in the foreground. Also I have experienced instability of the app in reconnecting after being interrupted by a phone call, it will say it is reconnected, but no audio is transmitted between the devices. The app needs to be fully shut down from multitasking bar, then reopened before it will reconnect and function properly. Therefore I give it 1 star, because it is identical in every way to the other app I have already paid for. They even interconnect with each other, I can have this app open, and then open MotoChat on the other device, and they will connect and work together, meaning that the only difference between these two apps is the name and icon, but in every other way they are the same app, if you buy both hoping for one to be better or to live up to it’s claims, you will just be paying twice for the same funky piece of software.
